brutashell review - 'Filmed in black and white and primarily spoken in German, it is obvious that Die Farbe did not have a huge budget to work with. Effects are minimal and the cast is utterly unknown. I should point out that these are all good things, and work very much in the film's favour. There is no CGI to rely on, no name actors to carry it. Rather, the filmmakers do the unthinkable: they create a genuine atmosphere of unimaginable dread and unspeakable horror, using shadow, suggestion and rare splashes of that Nameless colour in a few select frames. In short, they did a damn good job. Die Farbe is subtle in its mounting horror, nurturing a dark dread deep in your bowels with every shot. All of the best and most stomach-turningly distressing films I’ve ever seen have come out of Germany: M, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The White Ribbon, and now this one. Leave it to the Germans. We know how to gross you out on the deepest psychological levels.
Lovecraft worshippers and devotees of German Expressionism alike, take heed: seek out and view this film at your earliest possible convenience. 从bc拿起丝巾的那一刻我暂停了电影去翻条目，才意识到这个电影的分类原来并不简单。越往后看越不简单。从The assembly of the wicked have inclosed me到deliver my soul from sword，peter和bronco henry是同一类人吗，phil想成为bh，peter“想”成为phil，不同的“strong”不同的“恶”。我好想知道bronco的故事。

意象做的都挺直白。虽然波澜不惊，但像钝刀割肉。Phil看似硬汉却有着柔软细腻的情感，Pete表面阴柔却下刀冷酷。先是给观众一朵纸花，然后烧了纸花，简康平叙述着“犬之力”的压迫性。Rose被当作向权力谄媚的工具，和被社会男子气概所束缚的男主形成了互害关系，这是一个死结。
简·坎皮恩俨然气象有大师风范，比30年前的《钢琴课》更深藏不漏。《断背山》之后最好的同性题材作品。

片尾处美少年玩味皮绳的一段，补足了《色戒》电影版里的缺憾。
问题在于菲尔这个角色明显是没有死的必要的，反而儿子这个角色透着一股志得意满的邪恶
过分隐晦与克制，将男性的故事描述出了女性视角中的细腻脆弱与小心翼翼，然而这样不明所以的剧情因为缺乏必要的冲突而让我不愿深究背后含义，毕竟，引人是电影的第一要义。
phil虽然性格有点怪异，脾气也不好，但罪不至此，小孩的转变之点有点奇怪，基本全员谜语人，太多内涵隐藏在电影细节背后的草灰蛇线，导演极度克制，磨刀霍霍了两小时却没有向牛羊，最后的情绪没有了一个抒发点，戛然而止 3.5；

两个人互为镜像，展现了性格迥然不同的两种男人的多样性，简·坎皮恩如此拍人、拍男人拒绝了当前所谓女权电影的乱象，拒绝标签化，格局比一派政治正确电影人高到不知道多少。
太痴情了太纯情了....明明就是爱的很深的爱情片，可是太残忍了，被看透就全是软肋，一击毙命。送绳子那里不知所措的扔在地上，好心痛。
导演真能藏,也真会藏啊，合着一个多小时都是烟雾弹。

#看过热评第一的各种意象分析，不觉新鲜，实在因为很多细节并非细节。打分如此，只因叙事节奏实在不对口。太过克制的走线，数次昏昏欲睡，但本尼表演又可圈可点，整部作品也就这样不上不下的尴尬。
电影差评比较多的原因有两个，一是它讽刺了太多人太多东西，二是它打着喜剧的幌子，演员也在卖力地夸张的表演，但是出来的效果却并不好笑。好笑的部分都在预告片里了。一部喜剧但是不好笑，必然会惹怒观众。但是，这部电影最难得的地方是主创真的很悲观很愤怒，只是无解，能发现问题，但是没有办法，非常无奈
