The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 人物太多显得臃肿，比如送葬者五个人像是坏逼，结果就是群卖鞋的，两个主角的故事还没讲明白，就想着弄群像塑造。结果背景交代的不清楚，前因后果也没整通顺。整个故事就显得很不完整。
导演在拍之前可以看出做了大量的考察和准备，很多场景和故事都比较的现实。

借鉴了海的女儿的设定，加入了跑酷和末日的元素。世界观交代的有些模糊，故事推进的有点随意，节奏控制的也不好，特别是前半段很拖沓，给观众凌乱的大杂烩之感，感情戏没有铺垫，人设立不起来，很难产生共情，不过最后结尾处对主旨进行了升华，算是一个小小的亮点吧。对于这么强大的主创团队阵容，最后这样的出品着实感觉有点失望。不过技术层面还是很强的，画面相当漂亮，运镜丝滑，镜头张力很强，将跑酷的节奏感很好的体现了出来，配乐也很优美，总的来说当做好莱坞大片来看很可以。
