Max is a real jerk. A long time ago, the successful lawyer had turned over all the routine duties of family life to his wife Nathalie.His comfort and leisure time were a far greater priority. Sell the roadster and buy an efficient family car? No way!But then, Max’s fast-paced life suddenly screeches to a halt when Nathalie is hospitalized for several weeks with a complicated fracture.Alone with their two children and the dog he hates, Max quickly reaches the boiling point.As if having to play father was not bad enough, he is shocked to the core when he discovers passionate love letters written to his wife and signed “From G. in love”. Feeling that his life is slipping out of control, Max’s first impulse is to find out who his rival is. Then it dawns on him – could the way he has treated his wife be the reason why she has sought out another lover?Now Max attempts to see his situation from a different point of view. But turning his life around is far more difficult than he had imagined.To make matters worse, Gregor turns out to be a loving, family-oriented man just what Nathalie needs. Max is desperate – he knows there is a real chance that he might lose Nathalie and the children.Willing to put everything on the line to keep his family intact, Max makes the biggest sacrifice of his life. Then something happens that is the very last thing he could have ever counted on…

女主角的困境很像当下的普通美国人，抗风险的能力太弱了，一场变故下来，到最后只能是一无所有。爱人去世了，房子没有了，退休金也不够用，又不想寄人篱下，只能靠四处打短工来保证生存，所以她除了在路上漂泊，还能又什么选择呢
配乐好听，但略显泛滥，不过整体来说很成熟了，懂得克制，收放自如，一些事点到为止就可以，没有过多着墨。予人以尊严，予生命以尊重，在泥潭里寻觅转瞬即逝的诗意，十分动人了。
无依之地，一人，一车，一世界。本以为她会带上那条狗，本以为她会在一个地方安定下来，毕竟那太安逸了。她有爱她的人，她需要工作，她需要尊严，她需要率性的活着。大概只有那广阔的大地才能安放他们孤独的心灵吧。
更能理解paco那句“足够关照人 自然会是女权的”
女主在挚友房间那一幕，他劝说她不如就留下来，然而他怀中的婴儿声声啼哭一次次打断他的话头，像是在提醒她自己只是局外人，她接过婴儿仔细端详，影片于太多无声处在与观众交流，试图通过绝佳的节奏感，通过镜头的气息带入角色的内心世界，真的不俗，不得不说麦克多蒙德作为制片人，牛逼
一直在想什么时候结束，这种电影可以得金球奖，对精心制作的剧本、剪辑、配乐……都是侮辱
documentary-like and very poetic; the leading actress amazed me. "what's remembered, leaves" Everybody will eventually go down the road. But why not saying "goodbye", I like this word much more when I recently learned that it originally was an abbreviation of "God be with you". Fantastic use of music!
技艺成熟、情绪冷静自持又暗流涌动，选择的流浪和宿命的选择，人各有命，挺好的。不过令我好奇的是，导演如何能与这样的群体共情，以及十几岁以后的再社会化能够这样彻底地去掉原本的历史文化传统的影响。
四星半。一部几乎没有情节，极度情绪化的作品，有很多的留白和空镜，一呼一吸间，叹尽了人的孤独和生命的苍凉。
一个人去看的，确实是让人重新思考人生的作品，音乐好听，最喜欢75岁的Swankie提到的和她最后用影像记录下来的那些燕子，也想去看看那些高到天际的红衫林。
人不必相同地活着，也不必活当下。人可以只活在对过去的追思中与对未来重逢的期盼里，活在不得不将自己流放的路上。这种流动感，是他们灌注生命的方式，是他们得以喘息的通道。
太遗憾不能在大银幕上看这个片子。Swankie的故事最触动我，因为我有相同的经历：某年法国的海边，和朋友夜里去海边。嶙峋的怪石，深蓝的海，巨大的月亮，远处灯塔的微光。当时心里也在想，如果现在死了，我也没有遗憾。（电影的瑕疵我觉得是音乐，缺乏点想象力。）
除电影本身而言，现在的Anti-Asian Hate运动/ First color Asian women 应该起到了一定的作用，不能说这没有“天时地利人和”的”运气” or 运气本事也是一种实力？

把从荒野深处吹来的痛苦内化成勇气，一生的回忆装订成十字架背负着上路。十四行诗从几个世纪前被拉扯至今，依然血肉丰盈。100分钟的电影怎么塞得下如此多的东西。
“那是织女星，不过她离我们有23光年，也就是说，你现在看到的星光来自1987年才到我们这。星体爆炸朝太空放射出等离子体和原子，有些落到地球上，滋养土壤，构成地貌，现在张开右手，望向星星，因为你们手上的一些原子就来自星星，千万年前爆炸中，它们落在地球上，如今到了你们手里。”
第三部作品 就已经能一窥 赵婷 本人的风格了 摄影上的别致 关注西部边缘人物 辽阔的室外远景与逼仄的室内（这里是车内）近景的结合 不得不说 视听 情绪与文本结合得相当自然 具有打动人的力量和沉浸式的体验 虽个人审美上 并不喜欢这样充满学院派范儿的影片 但还是承认其成熟后的沉稳与肉眼可见的进步 另外 配乐也是亮眼的点缀8.2
