The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances.     索金的剧本就不吹了，但他对于自己的剧本依然无法进行取舍，整部电影仍然是被剧本支配带着跑，铺陈满密集对白和庞大信息量的法庭辩论、会议演讲、示威游行以及纪录片段，没有给予片刻让观众停下来思考喘息，你知道它所批判所要表达的，但影片结束后并不会被感染不会被煽动不会去反思，这是电影技法和视听的失败不是剧本的。在看的时候一直会想要是大卫芬奇、贝尼特米勒或者原定的绿草或老斯来处理这个剧本会是什么样？

    作为一个政治审判，比一般的庭审更复杂。可惜带有倾向性的主题，并没有表达清晰，各方面都不太站得住，大法官也没有明显做错什么，辩护律师执着的原因也没铺垫清楚，很多桥段设计太过戏谑，看了让人并不舒服。既不严肃又不荒诞，更不深入，纯粹是简单煽动和渲染革命的合理性，我不支持。
