The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 就觉得有些特技做得蛮粗糙，顶层逃生一根绳真的不是误导吗？价值观是可以的，可是年代感还是比较久远了。所以就有些矛盾。结尾彩蛋里出现了郑渊洁还是蛮感动的。两位主角小演员名字里都带一个熙字，这个事我觉得挺有意思。可见出现在孩子起名字的字选择实在有限。
其实还是不错的片子，最后高潮部分有点不过瘾呢
除了故事背景是八九十年代，这视觉特效也很八九十年代。

画面过于简陋，没怎么体现出罐头小人的童趣，只是放大了周围场景道具在拍。集体作弊的梗最失败，说教部分也相当敷衍，但也确实体现着“叛逆者”郑渊洁对中国教育体制的看法。5
我就觉得把这么意料之中的反转压在最后的十几分钟有点特别显得男主太拉了

崔宇植过于工具人了。不过灰色地带警察这个方面的题材我好像第一次见。
讨论程序正义必要性的大男主个人英雄主义，剧情略老套。反派大佬的人设弄成矜贵冷血会更带感。卧底小警官自带的悲情脆弱气质有为人设加分。

剧情细节还是不太经得起推敲。
当白警抓不了坏蛋，当黑警又不是自己的本心，那就做个介于白和黑之间的灰警吧，既能抓比自己更坏的人，又不违背自己的初心，还不错吧？！
剧情平平无奇，如果越是真的黑，估计更好看。不够暴力

这部电影带小孩子看还是不错的，故事很奇特很吸引人。
没有什么延续的感觉，生拉硬拽。
