The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 如果知道最早的音乐剧《西区故事》其实是脱胎于罗密欧与朱丽叶的情况下，大体上就能很好地理解整个故事了。老实说此片的镜头调度可谓是一流的，相比老版电影真正做到了把西区故事改编成一部电影的任务而不是依旧保留强烈的舞台剧感，古典戏剧的故事内核竟有那么一丢丢贴近美国现在多种族融合的现状，不过同时作为一部歌舞片，此片的音乐ememem……
对剧作无感——非常传统的美国故事，一个社群种族冲突下的现代罗朱悲剧，相比之下Tony Kushner后期的创作就要比这恢弘壮阔得多
群舞调度剪辑值得一看再看，在音乐剧翻拍电影里可以称绝。Ansel Elgort的角色人设一旦不够贴脸就是一场灾难，又大只又木。
